It relates the story of Belle, a bookworm with a dotty inventor for a father; when he inadvertently offends the Beast (a prince whose heart is too hard to love anyone besides himself), Belle boldly takes her father's place, imprisoned in the Beast's gloomy mansion. Naturally, Belle teaches the Beast to love. What makes this such a dazzler, besides the amazingly accomplished animation and the winning coterie of supporting characters (the Beast's mansion is overrun by quipping, dancing household items) is the array of beautiful and hilarious songs by composer Alan Menken and the late, lamented lyricist Howard Ashman. (The title song won the 1991 Best Song Oscar, and Menken's score scored a trophy as well.) The downright funniest song is "Gaston," a lout's paean to himself (including the immortal line, "I use antlers in all of my de-co-ra-ting"). "Be Our Guest" is transformed into an inspired Busby Berkeley homage. I have eagerly been awaiting the re-release of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast for several years – it’s an absolute must for any Disney collector (and in my opinion, their finest film) so buy it while you can as it won’t be around for long, and you don’t want to have to wait another ten years!
The classic story of Belle and her Beast teaches one to see beyond someone’s exterior to the beauty held within.
Full of brilliant songs such as ‘Be Our Guest’, ‘Tale As Old As Time’ and ‘Gaston’, children and adults alike will be singing along.
This is Disney at its best!
An amazing family film.
If you thought Aladdin and The Little Mermaid were good, prepare to have your socks blown off!

Finally, Disney re-releases Beauty and the beast, not only on dvd but on blu-ray too. I laugh because finally we don’t need to buy from those godam’ flippers-sellers their overpriced editions that you can find here with prices like 80 pounds for the 2 disc UK edition. Finally, no more scams.
PS: Movie gets 5 stars of course, been waiting for so long to add it to the collection. COME, AUTUMN!

Finally A Blu Ray with DVD Packaging Now it wont look weird in my Collection and this is the only Disney film i am Missing and i Hope they release more BLU Rays like this

I am one of many people who don’t have a Blu-Ray player, I also don’t want to buy one unless I absolutely have to. The title says DVD and Blu-Ray yet Amazon state that it has to be played in a Blu-Ray player. I’m a bit confused, is this DVD or Blu-Ray, it says DVD yet that doesn’t appear to be the case. I’m going to be so disappointed if I can’t buy this because I can’t watch it. Does anybody know what’s going on?

ive never really been a disney fan,however when i went to see this in the cinema i was blown away!everything from comedy to love to sadness. this film has it all.cant wait to see this in blu ray.

I cant tell you how excited I am for this to come out, and not have to pay upwards of £25 for it!
It is my absolute favourite film of all time, and I could quite happily watch it every day and not get bored of it!
If you or your children haven’t watched it – do it!! You will never look back!
