Personally, I really enjoyed this film. It was fast moving and had a good story behind it with a great cast, especially Brandon T Jackson as Grover. However, I had not read the book series before the film, but did read them after seeing it. There are a lot of differences between the book and the film, so I can see why some fans of the series may dislike the film.

i am a massive fan of the percy jackson books, so I was very excited about this film! It doesn’t disappoint. It is better than any of the harry potter films-but it is not a very faithful adaption of the book. But overall, it’s well worth seeing! I think that the film should be rated 12A, not PG though.

this film was fantastic, i wasnt exspecting much from this film and i was supprised as to how much i actually enjoyed it, thought it was awesome and sat on the edge of my seat for most of the film, well worth watching!!!

I went to see this with my mum as she has always enjoyed fantasy greek mythology movies and I have always enjoyed fantasy movies. I will lightly refer to it as a cross between Harry Potter and Clash of the Titans (original) era. We both really enjoyed this. We have not read the books. Pierce Brosnan’s character certainly took some getting used to! I think it is way too scary to be a PG, would never consider taking my 5 yr old son to see it, not for a good few years yet.

Ok, so this flim is so diffrant from the book it should go under a new name, but that makes it good.
The flim is great, at the start we see Zeus and Poseidon fighting over percy which is quite cute, as poseidon already loves percy, as people who have read the book at first poseidon dosn’t know how he feels about percy.
well this flim see’s percy (who is spot on) Annabeth (who should have blonde hair) and Grover (who should be white with brown curly hair) going over the US to get these stones (which in the book was giving to percy by his father) to get Zeus bolt back. this flim is great
The person who plays Luke is great, he really acts the part well, only if they plan a second flim, they killed Luke off which was very wrong to do as Luke is in book 1 to 5 lol

This tells the story of Percy Jackson, a young teenager who lives with his mother and her abusive boyfriend. He never met his real dad, but possesses extraordinary skills, especially those related to swimming. When on a school trip at a museum, he is attacked by a demon. After narrowly surviving, he is told that he is actually a demigod, whose real father was the Greek god Poisedon, god of the ocean. This explains his swimming ability! He is also told that there are more children like him, sired by different gods, and each with powers that correspond to their godly parents. The children are gathered together and told they must reclaim the “lightning”, which has been stolen. Many adventures then follow, including fights with Medusa and a Hydra, and even a visit to the underworld for a very interesting encounter with the god Hades, who has a secret…
The special effects are amazing, and visually this film is one of the best I have ever seen. Uma Thurman is briefly in the film as Medusa, and her duel with the children is very impressive. One feature of the film that is very appealing is how new technology has been added. For example, they cannot look directly at Medusa, so track her through looking at her through the camera function of their mobile phone. I really enjoyed this way of weaving the Greek legends with modern technology.
All in all, this was a great film, and genuinely escapist fun that will be enjoyed by all ages.

Personally i dont know wot all the fuss is about with it being a bad film. I think its a really gd film to watch, very intensive and keeps u watching till the end. I got it last night and watched it before i went to bed and i do admit that it is different from the book (which are really, really gd to read) but so was Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince and you don’t see many people complaining about that. I think the casting was really gd especially Logan Lerman (who plays Percy Jackson) and Brandon T. Jackson (who plays Grover). There were some major differences between the film and the book, e.g. annabeth has blond hair not brown and she has the yankees cap in the book and not in the film, bt Chris Columbus made acceptions to that and brought in different ideas which i believe worked really well bringing the film together. I would really recommended it even my mum (whose also read the books) is ok on the film and i wasnt sure she would be at first because she thought nothin could beat the books and then the film came out with major differences, between the two, bt it was still tense and in some parts very exciting.

This film, has brilliant special effects and has a brilliant storyline. There are also a few funny bits included. It’s gripping, funny and full of action. One of the best movies I have seen for a while. Would highly reccomend.

Havin read some of the reviews I have to say, who cares if the greek mythology is acurate! Its a film! Just enjoy it for what it is, entertainment!!! Second if you have read the books you may not like the film, because there are differences. Unfortuantely sometimes when translating a book to film they have time limits, budget limits and a need to explain things quickly, as not everyone who has seen the film has read the books! This leads to scenes and people being cut out or changed! If you are a major fan of the films that stick completely to the book I would say don’t watch it! However if like me you just like to be entertained, and are flexible with plot lines then go for it!

Have to say i was not sure if i was going to regret buying this but im so glad i did.Great special effects and story,kept me hooked from start to finish.Not sure why people have only given it 1 star,whats that all about ? Kids will love it!!
