When i went to see this film, i literally went to see it to kill a couple of hours. i have never been a big fan of the terminator series, not really my cup of tea.
But i was amazed at everything. I kinda wished i had gone and seen it with someone as there were parts that made me jump.
I think anyone looking for a action packed sci-fi thriller will love this film. i am am totally getting it when it comes out on dvd.
I give a major thumbs up.

Really good action/Sci-fi movie, not as good as T2 but good to see the future war and an older John Connor. Got to agree though Marcus and Kyle are the more interesting characetrs in this movie (plus Marcus is gorgeous!!).
Hopefully though the next movie will focus more on Connor and will expand on the war. Deffo worth spending a couple of hours on it.

If u want to show off what blu ray looks and sounds like to a friend this is that blu ray. Yes its alot louder than The Incredible Hulk and King Kong. I have a sony 850w cinema system and have done the tests- and yeah its much much louder than both. Picture quality- Its the sharpest blu ray out there, better than the now legendary Casino Royal sometimes 3x as good. Besides this its an epic film that in my opinion is alot better than the other Terminators.
The Good:
. Breathtaking Picture and Sound quality.
. BD Live, so u can get extra film realated materiels online.
. Really great storyline.
. Christian Bale- My favourite actor, he always does his best in every role.
. Option to view the Extended or Standard edition- just like king kong.
. Cinechat- watch film with someone from across the world and chat while enjoying film.
. 2 hours of extras to enjoy.
. Arnold Swishniger just as he was 20 years ago
. Massive Europe language subtitle support- not for poland, rus. or romania though.
The Bad:
. No digital copy or dvd to download film to a laptop or portable media player.

The other reviews give technical specs – mine was shoved into the blu ray player and just worked perfectly so I will not go into that here.
What I will go into is that the extended version on the disk is the one to watch, and boy will you enjoy it. It has more Terminators than you can shake a stick at and some seriously clever twists and turns. In particular one character is presented as a possible enemy, yet as in Terminator 2, we quickly bond with them as a character and end up cheering this character on (not telling you who, find out for yourself)
It has special effects a-plenty, a real storyline, and to be honest, whilst it is supposed to be about the rise of John Connor, it is more about the people behind him, before him and the encounters he has than John himself, which makes for a far more interesting film.
If you liked Terminator 1 and 2 (la la la, three didn;t exist as far as I am concerned) then you will LOVE this film, and I can see them making another in the years to come!

I bought this for one reason only – Sam Worthington. However, when I sat down to watch it last night, I found myself being sucked in, once again, to the world of Terminator. While the plot may not be as good as the previous films and the acting can be VERY cliched at times, it is still well worth a look. The special effects are fantastic, the men are gorgeous, the music is brilliant. And if you look carefully, theres a few nicely placed references to previous Terminator films. All in all, I bought this for one reason, but now I like it for a completely different one. Might not be the best movie I’ve ever seen, but it ain’t half bad.

I watched this movie expecting it to be a bit of a joke. To the best of my knowledge, basically none of the original cast are in this late sequel (less of a sequel and more of a series CPR).
However, I was treated to an amazing movie.
Christian Bale (The Dark Knight) plays a great John Connor, although he could do with dropping the Batman voice. However, he’s not the only protagonist in this. In a rather compelling twist, Sam Worthington (Avatar) plays a half human half machine — a prototype Terminator, named Marcus Wright.
And somewhat ironically, the latter character is far more interesting than the former. The scenes where Marcus comes to terms with the fact that he is half machine are truly moving, and very convincing. He’s treated like an outcast, not quite human and not quite machine.
We also see a much younger Kyle Reece in this movie too, played by an actor who genuinely seems like a younger version of the Kyle we see in Terminator 1.
In conclusion, this movie isn’t as good as T1 and T2. It’s far better than T3, without doubt. However, it can’t really be compared to any of those movies, as it’s a new direction for the Terminator franchise, and a promising one too. Great story, great effects, great characters, and a great revival of an old franchise.
Ignore the naysayers giving bad reviews, this is a brilliant movie. And also, the CGI Arnie was pretty convincing, and sent shivers down my spine.

At the risk of wasting my time having my voice heard over the other reviewers here (177 and counting), I decided to chance my arm anyway due to my expectations and actual viewing experience being so much at odds with each other. I also note with interest that at the time of my writing the ratings are split almost equally for everything between 1 and 5 stars, pretty unique I reckon, and also a good indication on how divisive opinions are. So, now I’m here raising my flag in the camp of the film’s supporters. After everything I heard and read about this film (including mainstream media reviews), I was expecting something much more mediocre than what Terminator Salvation turned out to be (for me that is). More than that, I knew this film was going to be something special within the first 10 minutes; the quality of direction, cast performances, the film’s “look” and atmosphere just felt right from the off. Yes, it’s not Shakespeare, but it is not meant to be; it was designed to be the best ride in the park, and for that purpose it’s perfection. Speaking of the cast, I thought Sam Worthington was superb, and skillfully crafted a subtle and complicated character – I look forward to seeing more of him. Christian Bale also puts in a strong performance, even if he did taint it a little with his boorish behaviour on set. At the end of the day though, it’s the story telling that wins you over; totally gripping, you’re immediately put on the edge of your seat and made to care about the characters. Yes, there is a cute little kid running around again, but the film never becomes too sentimental or smaltzy. I really do believe this is the best installment of the franchise.
A great film is only half the story though; the Blu-Ray production is also first class. Image quality is stunning, there’s some artful modification of the caste throughout the film which still leaves colours vivid, and some “Blackhawk Down” style artificial graining in some scenes, but it’s the detail and clarity that really takes your breath away. Sound is also impressive; good detail in the high frequency range, deep room shaking bass (the low frequency drone of the larger Terminators is superb), and fabulous effects steering. It all adds up to produce a realistic and truly enjoyable cinematic experience.

This is a truly amazing film. After the disappointing third instalment of the previous trilogy they have pulled out all the stops to make this a classic movie. Don’t watch it for the acting but watch it for some amazing special effects. A must see for action movie fans.

This is agreat film in the quadrilogy and it deserves 5 star for intense action scenes and great funny clips.
Much better than the last instalment.
